Soil Pit Monitors needed in NH!
The Merrimack and Carroll County Conservation Districts are interested in doing a Soils Field Day, a basic in-the-field soils primer for planning boards, conservation commissions, and subsurface installers. We are looking for volunteer presenters for the day. It will be approximately 9am to 3:30. Merrimack CCD will be doing theirs on October 28th with a rain date of November 4th. Carroll CCD is anticipating to do theirs the week of October 17th and tentatively in Tuftonboro. We are wondering if any SSSNNE members would like to volunteer their time as instructors. We would love to collaborate and hope to make this a yearly or every other year event, as needed. The day would involve six different soil pits. The presenters would interpret the pits to the students, give the students basic soils skills, and answer questions from the groups. If you are interested in helping, please contact:
